09, How We Engage

One focused brick, paced by the problem, not the calendar.

Whatever depth you land on, it starts the same way. Not ideas. Not a generic roadmap. One focused brick, worked on until it's actually done, producing an execution plan: what gets built, how, budgets, resources, and quick wins already delivered.

This isn't a big, open-ended retainer, and we won't pretend to know exactly how long something will take before we've even started. The problem sets the pace; if it's genuinely costing you to leave unresolved, we move quickly. If it's not urgent, we're not going to manufacture busywork just to fill a calendar. Either way, you'll see real progress along the way, and if it turns out we're not the right fit, it's easy to walk away.

Priority One, Diagnose & Focus
  1. Four-question intake plus a landscape scan.
  2. Diagnostic against what's needed to run the project well, and what needs to outlast it, plus the value-creation model.
  3. One brick selected, the single highest-leverage decision, not a menu.
  4. Scoping: what "done" looks like, budget envelope, resources needed.
Priority Two, Build & Deliver
  1. Real execution on that one brick, hands-on work, not workshops.
  2. Quick wins delivered and made visible as we go, not saved up for a final reveal.
  3. Full execution plan handed over: what, how, budget, resources.
  4. Go/no-go checkpoint, decide what's next, based on what this brick delivered.

Continue

Next brick is picked and scoped the same way, its own defined outcome, cost ceiling, and checkpoint.

Pause

Brick delivered, nothing picked next. No retainer runs by default; the relationship simply stays open.

Scale

Multiple bricks now make sense; engagement moves to Targeted or Full depth, brick by brick.
